Ploughmans Bakery, part of George Western Foods, has replaced plastic bread tags with fully recyclable cardboard ones on Ploughmans Bakery bread, a move which after extensive trials, is successful in effectively sealing in the delicious Ploughmans freshness and taste, whilst making a positive environmental change.

The company is the first New Zealand bread maker to embark on such an ambitious programme, which is part of its commitment to environmentally responsible packaging, with this first step in removing 7 million plastic tags.
